The Obstructive Sleep Apnea questionnaire is based primarily on user-indicated symptoms (hold breath while sleeping, pain) and demographic information including gender, age and BMI. The sleep apnea risk is based on logic derived from an internal ResMed Australia study of 1039 unique participants who completed an online questionnaire and a home sleep test (using a NightOwl, EctoSense device) between 2019 to 2021. A risk of OSA indicates a likelihood of having an Apnea Hypopnea Index (AHI) of 5 or above which is considered as Mild, Moderate (AHI 15 to 30) or Severe (AHI greater than 30) OSA as per guidelines provided by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
